The breadth of animals found on the savannah or waterways was astonishing and held an element of daily surprise. Sunrise to sunset each days itinerary brought forth something new to experience on the Reserves or within urban Johannesburg.

The Pitchers know how to navigate land and air travel in order to ensure the safest transport. Consummate professionals, flexibility and ingenuity played a large part in our lives as CoVid 19 closed borders and brought our trip to a halt. They never left us exposed. They had our backs until we were safely home. The Powells would return to South Africa with Ronnie and Dee in a heart beat. Their warmth and humour and knowledge of the land they care so much about is generously shared.
